Cute Crib

I had to post a picture of my beautiful crib. This crib was actually handmade by my brother in law (John's sister's husband). Cool, no? So I just got the mattress in and bedding washed and in and I thought it was cute and wanted to share.

Also, it pains me to have to explain this, but evidently there are quite a few who have serious concerns for me as far as any parenting skills I may have. So for their peace of mind I will add this: YES I KNOW STUFFED ANIMALS AND PILLOWS SHOULD NOT BE IN A CRIB WITH AN INFANT. They're just place holding people, cuz they're cute. I have read up on SIDS and have educated myself accordingly. You can now go back to wondering if I think it's appropriate to leave my baby unattended outdoors or if I have managed to remain unaware in my 28 years on this planet that babies poop, a lot. Thanks!

That crib is gorgeous! And how amazing that it was made by your brother-in-law. That's awesome. I love your crib set and the stuffed animals. For what it's worth, I have complete confidence in your parenting abilities. :)

That crib is amazing! How cool to have a family member with the skillz to do that. An heirloom for sure!

The bedding is super cute! And I love sock monkeys, too. Will has one and it creeps John out!

Glad to see that you're able to get the baby's room ready now. :)

Christie, you do know that the baby has to ride in a car seat while in the car right? I know you said Britney driving around with an infant on her lap was cute...BUT YOU CAN'T DO THAT. If it wasn't for the fact that you seemed to have someone figured out how to take care of John, I'd be worried...

John was actually the one that thought we needed the sock monkey. We were at target and he saw them in their little vintage toy section and he got all excited and said we needed to buy it. I like it too.

And I'm glad you don't have too many concerns Natalie... hehe... But those two issues I mentioned are actually real, haha. People informing me I shouldn't leave 18 mth olds outside in my yard unattended, and looking at me in pity as I JOKED that my child wouldn't poop. Starts to worry you they think so little of your common sense.

Sis, I was wondering if he started with some sort of kit. How did he get all of the hardware for a crib.

You can order all the metal, the braces, the lowering mechanism thing, and the springs that go under the mattress. I'm not sure where he gets that from, but THAT is ordered it some type of 'crib package'.
